Meet the founder
Big 4 rigor, operator instincts, a founder’s perspective
Calvin Wu began his career as an external auditor at KPMG, then spent a decade building finance functions inside fast-growing technology companies, from pre-revenue startups to household names like Hulu and Beats Music.
In 2018 he guided a consumer e-commerce company through a successful exit. That seat at the founder’s side of the table shapes how CW Business Advisory works: practical, numbers-first and focused on the decisions that move enterprise value.

- Founder-side exit in 2018
- Serves companies with $1M–$40M in revenue
Client reviews
What clients say
CW Consulting/Calvin Wu has been one of the best hires our company has made in a decade. The impact of his consulting is felt from the executive team all the way down to our most junior team members.
Calvin truly has a multiplier effect on whatever you are working on, and in our case he took a solid business model and turned it into a large multiplier exit. We couldn’t be happier and more grateful with the results.
FAQ
Common questions
What does a fractional CFO do for a small or mid-sized business?
A fractional CFO provides the strategic side of finance (forecasting, cash management, KPI reporting, budgeting, investor and lender communication, and transaction support) on a part-time basis. You get senior financial leadership for a monthly fee instead of a full-time executive salary.
How much do your services cost?
Bookkeeping packages start at $500 per month, the Controller package starts at $4,500 per month, and the Strategic CFO package starts at $8,500 per month. Advisory and M&A work is scoped to the engagement. Every engagement starts with a free consultation, and the full breakdown is on our pricing page.
Do you only work with San Diego businesses?
No. We are based in San Diego (see our San Diego fractional CFO page) and work remotely with companies across the United States, typically businesses with $1M to $40M in annual revenue in professional services, SaaS and technology, e-commerce, B2B and real estate.
We already have a bookkeeper or accounting team. Can you still help?
Yes. Our fractional CFOs work alongside internal or external bookkeepers, and we can add controller-level support or strategic CFO guidance on top of the team you already have.
Next step
Already have an accounting team? We’ll fill the gaps.
Whether you need a controller to tighten the close or a CFO to lead your next raise or exit, we plug in alongside the team you have.
